Big strategic thinking is at the heart of our Business Management graduate careers. From unlocking the potential of our people, to paving the way for innovation and efficiency, we think bold. We’re looking for bold thinkers, those with creativity, an analytical mind and an ability to think strategically. It’s all important in this pathway which spans championing our brand to implementing transformation projects. You’ll be key in driving our business forward.

Get to know the different pathway roles

There are four different specialisms on offer. We’d love for graduates to be as open as possible about the different routes. But do let us know on your application if you have a preferred role. We’ll do what we can to help you light your own path.

  • Sustainability: helping to deliver our Aviva Sustainability Ambition.
  • Brand: deepen the meaning of our brand through stronger category differentiation.
  • Financial Comms: take the market and financial media by storm.
  • Corporate Comms: Our new Climate Read index assesses the climate readiness of G7 economies and Ireland – help roll out a campaign and shout about it.
  • Employee Comms: deliver a step change in how our colleagues bring our ‘Customer Centricity’ to life.
  • Public Affairs: Fight for fairness and much-needed reforms in areas from cladding to Solvency II, the rules which protect policyholder in Europe, and much more.

Customer Change & Transformation (Norwich, Sheffield or York):  if you know what makes people tick, and you love the idea of getting close to customers – this is the place for you. As a Customer Change & Transformation Graduate, you’ll be part of the team constantly reimagining what we can do to deliver a better experience for our 19.5 million customers, strengthening our bond with them in a variety of ways.

Investments (London or York): Join us our investments specialism and as a graduate there are two distinct roles you can choose from during your application:

  • Investment Analyst (London):  this focuses on the quantitative and qualitative analysis that drives our asset strategy – coming up with new ideas and creating compelling reports that set out where we should be investing and why
  • Investment Oversight Analyst (York):  in this role you’d be supporting in managing the operational risks within our investment function – overseeing and monitoring the investment management firms we appoint and making sure we’re doing things the right way.

What you’ll get

  • A starting salary of £32,500
  • Support towards relevant professional qualifications and lots of other development opportunities
  • A great support network to help you grow into your role

  • The perception to recognise new opportunities.
  • A love of learning and the drive to keep developing yourself.
  • A strong ability to build and develop relationships.
  • For the Investments roles you’ll need to be good with numbers.

Where could you be based?

Our Business Management Pathway opportunities are based in Bristol, London, Norwich, Sheffield and York: all buzzing places in which to launch your career. Not all role types are available in every location, so tell us on your application if you have a preference. It’s important that you live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based, or be willing to relocate prior to start date as you’ll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams.

About Us

Things graduates love about Aviva

Yes, we’re the UK’s leading diversified insurer. But we’re customer-centric and planet-minded. We’re acting on climate change and helping others do the same. We’re building stronger communities and investing in a future we all want to live in. And we’re changing the way we do business by championing everything from the living wage to women leaders.

We’re proud to be diverse, and just like our 19.5 million customers, our people are a mix of cultures, genders, and ages. We understand that one size doesn’t fit all and promote flexible ways of working for our team, so you can find your spark, your way.

The work we do is rewarding and challenging. And whatever role you’re in, we’ll give you the training you need as well as opportunities for you to develop yourself and grow in your career. We’re continuously moving forward as a business, and we’ll make sure you do too.

How to apply

The application deadline is December 15th. However, we may close the application process earlier if we receive a large number of suitable applications.

To set your expectations and help you prepare, there are four steps in our graduate application process:

  1. Online application - complete a short questionnaire about your motivations, and submit it along with a copy of your CV.
  2. Online situational strengths test
  3. Video interview
  4. Virtual assessment day with tasks that enable you to show us what you're good at and what you enjoy.

Shine there and we'll offer you a role to start in September 2025.

Please note: At Aviva we offer multiple graduate pathways, of which, this is one. We ask that you only apply for one pathway - the one that most aligns to your strengths and interests. If you do make more than one application, we will only accept your first.
