Job Description

Technology and Change Delivery Pathway
Location: Norwich or York
Duration: 10 weeks – 30th June – 4th September 2026
Hours: Full time, fixed-term
Work type: Hybrid
Salary: £27,750 (pro rata)

The opportunity

Curious about the possibilities technology can unlock? At Aviva, technology and change go hand in hand, helping us solve problems, create better experiences and deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and colleagues.

On this 10‑week summer internship, you’ll join our Technology and Change community, where there’s space for different strengths and interests. Some roles are more technical, focusing on building, testing and improving software. Others are less technical, centred on organising work, influencing how things are done and helping ideas become reality.

Whichever path fits you best, you’ll gain hands‑on experience, build skills that set you apart and work with people who care about making a difference.

You don’t need to be a tech expert to apply. If you’re curious, enjoy solving problems or thinking big, and are excited by change, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll need to be in your penultimate year of study, or completing a one‑year Master’s finishing September 2027.

And if you need support with your online application or you need to apply another way, we’ve got you covered there, too.  Just reach out to avivaearlycareers@aviva.com

"At Aviva, the culture is incredibly supportive—everyone is friendly, and no question feels trivial. I’ve received tremendous support for my professional growth, including a structured development plan."  – Previous Intern and Current Graduate

The roles

There are three roles types on offer within our Technology and Change Delivery Pathway, based in either Norwich or York: both buzzing places in which to launch your career. We champion hybrid working at Aviva (three days in the office and two days from home every week is typical), so you’ll need to live within commuting distance of the office where your chosen role is based. You’ll get the benefit of spending time with colleagues in real life as well as gaining more work-life balance.

Business Analyst (Norwich or York): you’ll help uncover what customers really need and work with teams to deliver practical solutions. You’ll ask insightful questions and challenge assumptions to identify opportunities for improvement. Whether that’s analysing data, solving problems, maximising opportunities, removing blockers, or shaping smarter ways of working, you’ll play a key role in helping us do things better: for our customers, our business, and your own development.

Project Manager (Norwich or York): If you’re a natural organiser, love to take the lead, and enjoy bringing people together to get stuff done, this could be your kind of role. Our Project Managers are brilliant at planning, but they’re also flexible enough to roll with the changes. You’ll be making things simple, removing blockages and paving the way for successful delivery – inspiring and helping teams deliver great outcomes for our customers, efficiently and effectively.

Test Engineer (York): You’ll help make sure our software is reliable, secure, and working properly. You’ll spot any issues, gaps, or glitches, so our customers and colleagues have a smooth and stress-free experience when using our apps and platforms. You’ll learn how to use test automation tools, get to grips with best practices in testing, and gain in depth knowledge of behaviour driven development practices to help us deliver quality at speed. With the support of your team, you’ll build confidence in problem-solving and collaboration while developing practical skills in testing and quality assurance.
