The roles
Our Technology Software Development roles are based in Bristol and York. You may need to be flexible on location and willing to relocate if needed. We believe some of the best collaboration, learning, and relationship building happens when people come together in-person. That's why our colleagues spend around 50% or more of their working time in the office. We call this Smart Working. For most colleagues, that means spending around three days a week in the office and the rest working from home, although this varies by role and team.
Software Engineer (York): you'll help build and improve the applications, systems and digital services that support millions of Aviva customers and colleagues every day. Working in agile teams, you'll design, develop and enhance software solutions that solve real business problems and create better experiences. From learning modern engineering practices to working with the latest technologies, you'll develop valuable technical skills while contributing to meaningful projects. If you enjoy problem-solving, innovation and bringing ideas to life through technology, this could be the role for you.
DevOps Engineer (Bristol): you'll help build and maintain the technology platforms that power digital services, data and AI across Aviva. Working with cloud technologies, infrastructure and automation tools, you'll create secure, reliable and scalable environments that enable teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions. From improving system performance and automating processes to supporting new technologies and ways of working, you'll play a key role in helping our customers and colleagues get the most from technology. If you enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies and driving continuous improvement, this could be the role for you.
